Condition
of the
Construction
Industry
Following
the
EU Accession Poland’s
joining
the
European
Union
has
yielded
considerable
growth
potentials
to our
Company.
For
years,
we have
been
involved
in prefabrication
in the
construction
industry.
Our
objective
is to
reach
a situation
when
as many
as possible
of building
components
are
manufactured
in a
plant.
Presently,
our
Company
applies
the
Buma
Free-Dom
building
system,
under
which
buildings,
in the
form
of volumetric
modules,
are
almost
95%
manufactured
in our
production
plant
in Kraków.
This
has
provided
us with
a great
chance
for
exporting
our
construction
services
to the
highly-developed
countries,
where
labour
and
construction
materials
are
much
more
expensive
than
in Poland.
Our
volumetric
modules
are
trucked
to the
site
and
erected
with
the
use
of specialised
equipment.
Due
to the
fact
that
Poland
is a
member
of the
European
Union,
borders
can
be crossed
without
troublesome
customs
clearance.
Also
issues
related
to invoicing
and
document
distribution
have
greatly
been
simplified.
Buildings,
once
prefabricated
in Kraków
are
transported,
and
then
erected
in the
United
Kingdom
and
in Germany.
Erection
of a
building,
set
on foundations
provided
by local
building
contractors,
takes
up several
days.
In August,
within
merely
four
days,
we erected
a four-storey
residential
building
in Barling
Court
in London.
"Already
other
EU countries
are
interested
in our
price-competitive
products.
A year
ago,
such
contracts
would
be impossible,"
says
Mr.
Krzysztof
Olsza,
President
of Buma
System
S.A.
