Everything
that
is indispensable
for
working
and
…
living Labour
is not
all
that
man
lives
on.
This
seems
to be
true,
but
it is
not
difficult
to name
persons
who
live
exclusively
on labour,
thus
earning
the
gratitude
and
approval
of their
superiors.
The
latter,
being
aware
that
human
productivity
and
creativity
have
their
limits,
try
to create
ideal
conditions
within
the
companies
for
the
efficient
work
and
regeneration
of physical
strength.
How
is that
done?
Modern
office
complexes
provide
employees
with
everything
that
is indispensable
for
working
and
…
living.
Offices,
often
located
on higher
levels,
are
accompanied
by the
whole
range
of back-up
facilities,
that
is bank
divisions,
bars,
restaurants,
post
offices,
etc.
Offices
with
Back-up
Facilities "As
early,
as in
the
stage
of designing
our
office
complex,
we have
considered
two
types
of services
to be
provided
to our
tenants.
First
of all,
there
are
services
that
make
their
work
more
efficient.
e.g.
a bank
division,
a mobile
phone
servicing
outlet,
a notarial
office,
computer
and
stationery
shops.
Inside
the
complex,
in the
great
atrium,
there
will
be a
conference/
banquet/entertainment
hall
for
600
persons,
with
loudspeaking,
lighting
and
simultaneous
translation
equipment,
as well
as a
few
smaller,
seminar
rooms,"
says
Mr.
Piotr
Michalski,
Buma
Square
Project
Manager.
"Other
services
are
provided
directly
to employees
who,
without
leaving
the
office
complex,
can
do their
shopping
in a
grocery
shop,
in a
pharmacy,
or at
a post-office,
as well
as have
their
clothes
cleaned
at the
cleaner’s.
Of course,
all
such
outlets
are
adjusted
in their
size
to the
size
of the
office
centre.
They
cannot
count
on mass
customers."
"Our
tenants
highly
praise
the
possibility
of using
all
services
that
are
needed
in their
everyday
life.
In the
Herbewo
office
complex,
there
are
shopping
outlets,
bank
divisions,
a post
office
and
a clinic.
There
is also
a hairdresser’s
parlour
since
external
appearance
is a
very
critical
thing
in business,"
adds
the
administrative
director
of Herbewo.
The
Lubicz
Office
Centre
competes
with
other,
modern
A-class
office
buildings
by means
of various-size
conference
rooms.
Service
providers
located
in the
Lubicz
Office
Centre
include,
among
others,
air-travel
agency
and
car
rental
office.
Something
for
the
Body It
happens
that
inside
a single
office
complex,
one
can
find
the
range
of various
cuisines:
Italian,
Greek
or Chinese,
salad
bars,
or the
traditional,
Polish
cuisine
–
all
that
to satisfy
taste
preferences
of the
office
staff.
If an
employer
is concerned
about
employees
eating
lunch
on the
spot
and
not
wasting
time
for
going
out,
it partly
finances
meals
in selected
restaurants
or bars
inside
the
office
complex.
In large
officer
centres,
the
lunch
break
is now
a common
thing.
Owing
to that,
employees
can
work
longer
and
more
efficiently.
In
the
Herbewo
office
complex
tenants
praise
the
tasty
meals
supplied
by LOT
airline
catering
company,
while
in the
Lubicz
Office
Centre,
there
is a
well
operated
division
of the
famous
"Wierzynek"
restaurant.
"The
quality
of meals
does
not
differ
from
that
offered
in the
renowned
restaurant,
but
prices
are
kind
to the
wallets
of those
working
here,"
says
Director
Kazimierz
Kotwica.
"You
can
have
a really
gorgeous
breakfast
at 4.50
Polish
zlotys,
and
a three-course
dinner
at 10.00."
"The
36,000
sq.m.
of the
surface
area
of Buma
Square
will
house
a bar,
as well
as cafés
and
a restaurant.
In near
future,
we expect
to open
a top-class
restaurant,
to which
our
tenants
could
invite
their
customers
to a
lunch,
dinner,
or contract
execution,
"adds
Mr.
Michalski
from
the
office
centre
in Wadowicka
Street.
Relax
and
Fitness While
service
and
food
outlets
in large
office
complexes
are
completely
understandable
and
do not
strike
anybody,
still
the
introduction
of recreational
facilities
is a
surprising
thing.
Modern
office
buildings
are
outdoing
each
other
in offers
for
their
tenants.
In the
Lubicz
Office
Centre,
employees
can
relax
while
playing
volleyball.
Golf
is becoming
more
and
more
popular
among
entrepreneurs
who
have
at last
a true
golf
course
in the
nearby
village
of Paczółtowice.
They
can
practise
every
day,
before
work,
during
the
lunch
break,
or in
the
evening,
without
even
leaving
the
office
building.
The
office
complex
of Herbewo,
caring
for
the
physical
fitness
of office
workers
who
spend
whole
days
sitting
at their
computers,
created
a recreational
centre,
with
sauna,
jacuzzi,
and
a gym.
In future,
the
centre
will
be extended
to reach
600
sq.m.
and
will
become
the
largest
one
in the
city.
"We
have
also
planned,
and
this
is a
very
near
future,
to open
a fitness
club
in Buma
Square,
including
a small
swimming
pool,"
bids
Mr.
Michalski.
According
to the
survey
results
he has,
10%
of the
employees
utilize
the
recreational
facilities,
offered
by their
office
complex.
Mr.
Michalski
believes
that
ca.
3,000
people
can
find
a job
in Buma
Square.
We
have
not
become
accustomed
in Poland
to the
existence
of closed
complexes,
where
all
people
work
for
each
other
and
thus
do not
have
to go
out.
Employees
save
their
precious
time,
they
can
do shopping
on the
spot,
visit
a hairdresser
or even
get
relaxed
in a
sauna
or a
jacuzzi,
or swim
in the
swimming
pool.
Such
a life
style
is fostered
by the
arrangement
of offices
which
usually
have
their
own
kitchens
and
rooms
with
bathrooms.
As a
matter
of fact,
the
only
thing
that
is missing
is the
hotel
part,
and,
then,
a substitute
of the
Silica
Valley
might
be created.
Such
an image
of a
modern
office
has
a lot
of logics,
but,
at the
same
time,
poses
the
danger
of transforming
people
who
work
in such
an office
into
super-efficient
cyborgs...
