The
Milokum
system
of light
housing
structures,
modelled
after
American
framework
buildings,
has
been
known
in Poland
for
several
years.
The
technology
enables
to erect
multi-family
buildings,
up to
five
storeys,
with
an almost
lightning
speed
of three
months.
Recently,
the
Kraków-based
BUMA
company
has
constructed
450
flats
in a
record-breaking
period
of nine
months.
The
flats
were
constructed
in two
housing
estates:
the
Pod
Klombami
and
the
Halszki.
Presently,
the
Milokum
system
has
been
subjected
to a
worldwide
patent
reservation
procedure.
The
system
was
already
granted
patents
in the
Czech
Republic
and
Lithuania,
and,
most
recently,
in the
homeland
of framework
structures,
the
U.S.A.
Another
success
of the
Company
and
of the
system
is the
winning
of a
tender
for
the
construction
of three
four-storey
buildings
in London.
The
interesting
thing
about
that
project
is that
the
buildings
will
be erected
on plots
which
have
only
been
granted
ten-year
building
permits.
Consequently,
movable
buildings
must
be adopted,
which,
after
ten
years,
can
be disassembled
and
relocated
to another
place
in the
city.
What’s
more
interesting,
those
buildings,
apart
from
their
provisional
nature,
will
be made
with
full
finish
standard
and
classical
elevations.
