The
BUDMA
2002
International
Construction
Fair
is the
largest
domestic
event
of that
industry,
representing
almost
all
materials,
products
and
technologies
connected
not
only
with
building
as such,
but
also
with
the
related
processes,
such
as trading
in construction
materials
(the
subject
of one
of numerous
seminars
that
accompany
the
Fair),
designing
and
urban
planning.
Separate
events
that
took
place
within
the
four
Fair
days
were
seminars
concerning
cooperation
with
the
Russian
economy,
attended
by the
Presidents
of Poland
and
Russia,
as well
as a
discussion
on the
consequences
visible
on the
construction
market
after
Poland
joined
the
European
Union.
Among
almost
the
1,500
exhibitors
from
Poland
and
abroad
(31
countries),
there
were
also
construction
companies,
design
offices,
manufacturers
of construction
materials
and
representatives
of other
related
businesses
from
the
Małopolska
Region.
The
first
exhibitor
from
the
Małopolska
Region
to be
noticed
immediately
upon
entering
the
Fair
area
was
the
BUMA
SYSTEM
S.A.
which
had
its
exhibition
in the
open
air.
The
BUMA
presented
several
movable
houses
which,
despite
their
provisional
nature,
were
finished
up to
standards
that
are
mandatory
for
permanent
buildings.
The
greatest
impression
was
made
by the
FREE-DOM
technology
implemented
in a
single-family
house
assembled
of elements
within
a single
day.
This
is a
comfortable,
two-storey
home
for
a four-person
family,
with
the
surface
area
of 132
m².
The
complete
building,
including
its
elevations,
mineral
plasters,
doors
and
windows,
installations
and
furnishing
was
manufactured
in a
production
plant.
Later,
it was
transported
to the
site
in the
form
of finished
modules
and
erected
on foundations
in a
dozen
or so
hours.
As far
as its
operation
is concerned,
the
building
is fully
comparable
to a
traditional
one,
and,
if necessary,
a FREE-DOM
[free-home]
can
be relocated
to another
place.
The
structure
is offered
either
in a
standard
version
(without
floor
and
stair
finish,
or paint
on interior
walls,
or glazed
tiles
and
sanitary
appliances),
or in
a luxury
version
which
is fully
finished
and
furnished.
The
Company’s
offerings
were
supplemented
by other
movable
facilities,
made
on easily-transportable
structures.
One
of the
proposals
was
a high-standard
caravan,
or a
mobile
home,
with
two
rooms
and
a kitchen,
a hall
and
a bathroom,
which
allowed
a four-person
family
to live
in it
all
year
round.
Other
proposals
included
social
housing
that
complied
with
basic
Building
Law
regulations,
adjusted
for
transportation,
but
also
to be
fixed
permanently
on the
ground.
There
were
also
hotel
caravans,
for
5-20
persons
staying
in living
cabins,
each
of them
with
a shower
and
toilet
and
a small
kitchenette.
Such
caravans
can
successfully
be used
after
natural
disasters
to provide
shelter
for
the
homeless.
The
last
offering
was
a comfortable,
movable
VEPMOBIL-WC
public
toilet,
constructed
up to
a high
hotel-like
standard.
It can
be used
at open-air
meetings,
picnics,
sports
and
cultural
events.
The
toilet
caravan
is offered
in two
versions:
a standard
one,
with
single-handle
mixers,
water-proof
tops,
glazed
tiles
on walls
and
floors,
mirrors
and
lighting,
as well
as a
luxurious
one,
with
Geberit
lavatory
pans,
electric
hand
driers,
marble
tops
and
stoneware
tiles.
