Construction
Novelties
in the
Małopolska
Region
BUMA
SYSTEM
S.A. The
"Free-Dom"
home
presented
by the
Company,
is the
first
building
technology
in Poland
applying
volumetric
modules.
That
method,
which
has
been
applied
in the
U.S.A.
for
a number
of years,
is a
novelty
in Poland.
What
it produces
is an
inexpensive
building,
with
duration
comparable
to that
of traditional
houses,
which
can
be constructed
in a
very
short
time.
Its
low
price
results
from
the
fact
that
the
building
is constructed
not
on site,
but
in the
factory
where
it is
manufactured
in series.
A
single-storey
building,
with
the
surface
area
of 133
m²,
can
be erected
on site
within
one
day
only.
The
erection
consists
in the
connection
of four
fully
completed
and
factory-finished
modules.
The
building
can
be set
on a
basement,
which
is made
only
along
the
building
outline
and
has
no partition
walls,
so it
can
be freely
developed,
in accordance
with
the
needs
of the
future
tenants
(the
cost
of such
a basement
is included
in the
price
of the
building).
Although
that
is a
typical
building,
customers
can
choose
between
colours
of walls,
structures
of plasters,
types
of doors
and
windows,
and
heating
systems.
Heating
can
be based
on fireplace,
electric,
or gas
heaters,
with
a central
gas
boiler.
The
building
is an
excellent
offering
for
those
people
who
have
no time
to look
after
the
works
on site,
make
purchases,
or travel
all
over
building
material
depots.
It is
enough
to visit
the
exhibition
and
fill
out
a questionnaire
concerning
the
investor’s
expectations
as to
walls,
windows,
plaster
and
finishing.
After
a month,
which
period
is necessary
for
the
basement
and
foundations
to be
made
and
dried,
four
building
modules
are
brought
to the
site.
Once
assembled
with
the
use
of a
crane,
the
building
is ready
to accept
tenants
on the
same
day.
It takes
much
more
time
(3-4
months)
to have
one’s
order
accomplished,
since
following
the
presentation
at the
BUDMA
2002
International
Construction
Fair,
a long
queue
of those
willing
to purchase
the
Buma’s
product
has
formed.
One
can
visit
a model
volumetric
module
building
at the
exhibition
yard
at 8,
Wadowicka
St.
in Kraków.
Other
models
of buildings,
both
larger
and
smaller,
are
under
preparation.
