At an official gala in Warsaw, Buma Group representatives received the statuette of the "Crystal Developer 2008". The prizes were awarded to the most active developers in Poland.
The final of the second edition of this competition was held on January 15, 2009 at the Warsaw Businessman Institute. The competition is organised by the Apartamenty i Mieszkania magazine. Several dozen developers from all over Poland entered for the competition, which is aimed at promoting developers who pay attention to the quality of the projects they build, their high fit-out standard and the external image of their companies. When awarding the prizes, the jury took into account the developers' contribution to urban development due to looking for new construction areas raising the quality of the existing city space and the architectural attention to detail as well as the architectural consistency of completed projects.
The statue and title of the "Crystal Developer 2008" was awarded to the Buma Group for "interesting architectural solutions and the use of modern technologies in construction". The prizes were presented by the Mayor of the Wawer Municipality, Mr Jacek Duchnowski. "This prize proves our stable position and confirms the rapid growth of the real estate market of Małopolska, both in commercial space and in housing" - said Konrad Dziewoński, representing the Management Board of the Buma Group, when accepting the statuette.
The prize from the Apartamenty i Mieszkania magazine is not the first won by the Buma Group last year. Last June, the Rondo Business Park development won the first prize in the "Public Building Architecture" category of the "Krakow - My Home" poll organised by Gazeta Krakowska, and in December the same project received honours in the competition for the Stanisław Witkiewicz Prize held by the Małopolska Voivodeship. Another office building by the Buma Group, called ONYX, was put forward for last year's Professor Janusz Bogdanowski Prize. The Buma Group comprises companies cooperating since 1991 on developments. So far, the BUMA Group has completed office developments with the lettable area of over 55,000 m2 (including: the Buma Square Business Park and the Rondo Business Park, Krakow). In addition, the Buma Group has built over 1,700 apartments and 270 detached houses.
