Flat-pack’ housing sites sought
Homes which take just five days to construct could be built in the south east if suitable locations are found.

Polish company BUMA is already working with Hyde Housing Association to build modular homes in London and has said it wants to expand in the South East. The firm is looking for suitable land in Kent, Sussex and Surrey as well as housing associations which it can work with to build the affordable homes. The £40,000 steel-framed flats should last 60 years and can be moved. Just six people are needed to complete the construction which does not require scaffolding. An entire block can be built in less than a month.
