ONYX is yet another office building completed by the BUMA Group in Krakow, following in the footsteps of Wadowicka 8W, the Buma Square and the Rondo Business Park. This building stands in the Powstańców Śląskich Ave. next to the Ford and Renault dealerships. It was designed by the Krakow-based MOFO Architects.
The main tenant is Electrolux (Electrolux Poland Sp. z o.o.), which will open its Global Service Centre in the ONYX office building. In terms of area, its new site will be the third largest Electrolux office in Europe.
The company will occupy the ground, 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors for its Global Service Centre providing the corporation with accounting, IT, user guide and real estate services. With this new site, Electrolux will increase its employment from 320 to 550 staff. The company is moving to ONYX from another Krakow office facility - the Buma Square.
The second tenant, Skanska S.A., will take 847 m2 on the 4th floor. Skanska will move into the ONYX Office Building in November 2008. The lease contracts were signed in the first half of 2008. The ground floor of the building will also house a cafeteria 187 sq m in area. The grounds of the ONYX building also include a car park: 114 ground-level spaces and 42 underground.
The architecture of the ONYX building ensures maximum possible daylight illumination of the interior. The facade is clad in FunderMax facade panels giving it its characteristic gleam and a colour similar to that of onyx, a semi-precious stone. Other trademark features of the building are the terraces on the 3rd and 4th floors as well as its external illumination.
